Week 3, thingy 7

Wow, there's lots of latitude on this one. Here's one for you: I feel very much middle-generation. I showed my parents how to search for something on LLBean's web site this weekend. That's something I take very much for granted but it's a mystery to them. But my nephew is so many light years ahead of me!
Also, I saw that The Daily Show is available on i-Tunes. Now if only I had an Ipod-- more of being in the middle generation.
Finally, NPR had an interesting story this morning about protecting your on line reputation. It's incredible and wonderful that I can give you this link and you can listen to it.

Now off I go to do a comment on someone else's blog.

Week 3, thing 6

OK, guys, this is getting addictive. I thought I would be doing it only at home, but I decided...oh, well, just one this afternoon.
Mashup-- what a neat name. But once I started looking at the API documentation, I got overwhelmed and went to play elsewhere (remember that important learning habit 'play'?)
I LOVE the Color Pickr-- just because it was fun to see all the possibilities with each color. I also liked the comment of Alex Soojung-Kim Pang on that page i.e. this is either a great thing or a so-what thing.
Did you know that there are over a million cat pictures in the Montag-r? pdx_librarian had some cute pictures of a cat named Phoebe. Then I went back and found that there are over 1000 photos with tags of 'Phoebe' and 'cat' AND that if you just look for 'phoebe' tag you find pictures of the bird as well.
I also made a blog header in the Blog Header generator in Flickr Toys.
Yikes, I'd better get back to work!

Week 3, thing 5

Well, Jim had told me about Flickr and it looks great. I was very interested in the 150 most common tags, and the way the font size of the words on the list reminded me of Aquabrowser. Then I found myself getting lost in the 'most interesting photos.' I went to the ones from the last 7 days, then because it was hot today, I decided to look at photos from December 2006-- looking for photos of snow. Instead, I found this yummy photo:

Isn't that wonderful with the crumbs and pieces of cranberry falling off?
The tagging convention blog on the Flickr site is interesting, too, but as with many blogs, the participants sure get into some inane 'arguments.'

Idea for Jim and Ellen

Hi there! The Account Reference Sheet is neat. Just a thought: you might want to add a line for each account to note what kind of account it is, or what the account is for-- for example, the account with Google is for the blog. p.s. I hope you aren't reading this over the weekend-- but I figured out that home is the best place to work on the 23 things!

Week 1, thing 2: The 7.5 Effective Habits

It was really helpful to read someone else's blog because he/she reminded me that I'm supposed to write about the easiest and hardest of the 7.5 habits. The easiest is a no-brainer: play, play, play! I'm all for it! I take all my vacation and personal days, love life, then work hard while I'm at work. The hardest habit was a little tougher to decide on, but I would say viewing problems as challenges. It's too easy to have problems seem overwhelming instead of remembering that when I've been confronted with them in the past, it's all turned out fine and I have usually learned something from the experience.

Week 2, things 3 and 4

Woah! I seems I might have just created a blog. That's pretty amazing! I registered it also, will watch for 'CatsMeow' to show up on the participants page and I will do blog posts for future activities-- promise!
